Mayfly hatch

6 posts in this topic

I have noticed in the last week that the mayflies are starting to hatch. This is always a fun time of year, trying to get around with the spot light on. Then having to clean out the 1.2 trillion mayflies that are dead in your boat. I have noticed them last thursday, and again on saturday night. I was out last night in a different spot and didnt have any problems with them. Anyone else seen them yet?

Yep, out in full force last night.

3 things to do:

Limit spotlight to very little or none while anchored.

Use red lights when possible.

Have a pair of safety glasses for the ride home.

Just go like h$ll and keep your eyes closed.

I am sure that will work, that same theory gets me home from the bars wink

We noticed them last night down by Kato. You would be crusing along and you could just see the clouds of 'em coming.
