Bass fishing in southern U.S.

3 posts in this topic

So i've been thinking about planning some type of trip to the southern U.S. for some bass fishing, possibly Florida. I would be flying so I would need someplace that rents boats. Can anyone recommend any resorts or anything like that to me, I'd just love a chance to hook into some of those big 10 pounders. So i'm looking for someplace that rents boats, affordable, and some great bass fishing. If anyone has done a trip like this i'd love to hear from you, any advice would be appreciated.

I can tell you this, for the price of the boat rental, you are better off hiring a quality guide. A guide will give you a lot better chance at hooking on pig down there as they live and breathe fishing on the lakes down there. Most of the time you can bring your own equipment, but if you choose to pack lighter they will have everything you need as well. Also a good way to try out some top quality equipment.

Sorry for sending you in a different direction, but it is advice that will surely be repeated and agreed upon by the majority.

Thanks for the advice, i've never done a trip like this so i'm pretty open to anything. I'll definitely check some guides now.

    • Dishwasher for me if I don't get to them right away like thirdeye.
    • I sprayed mine almost a month ago.  An ortho product that seamed to work.  All that's left is the dead grass it choked out.

    • We spent the past week in Door County Wisconsin on vacation with 4 other couples and our campers. I had it all lined up for 6 members of our group to go out on a chartered fishing trip in the early morning of Thursday. The charter called me at 8:00 Wed. evening to inform me that the boat had broken down and wouldn't be fixed until later that day and there were no available re-scheduling opportunities until Monday.    GGGRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!
    • Well looks like the draft came and went without much fireworks, sounds like Fletcher didn't like any of the offers so he is going to wait to make a move. Hard to see us fitting under the cap or filling out a full team without moving Scandella or Pommers so we will see what happens.

Of course drafting from the 3rd round on doesn't lead to many super exciting players but it sound like we got a couple midgets with some skill and several projects. Our big off season move might have been keeping everyone through expansion.
    • My only concern is the timing of all of this. We seem to be loading up for a run in the next year or two but the Warriors are still sitting there stacked beyond belief.  Can we add enough and develop our young guys enough to be a legit threat to the Warriors.  Lebron, Irving, and Love barely made the Warriors break a sweat in the finals.  I'd like to see them time their final acquisitions to correspond with the end of the Warriors run.
    • Maybe line up all the non-compliant VW's and gas 'em all out with diesel fumes.
    • Glad Lavine is gone! Added nothing but slam dunks to the team. I've been out of town for the past week, so I was very delighted to hear about this trade today.
    • Not unless they ban the toothpick crossbow here too. Takes those beetles out clean.
