That's a neat composition, dirtking. I like the grass, rock and shrubs and the way they flow through the image.

A duckling's life is pretty precarious.

Interesting, looks like mergansers and a couple wood ducklings in there. Its common for both to dump eggs into each others nest box. I would guess by the mergansers out numbering the wood ducks mom was a merganser. Sadly they stand little chance with out a mom.

yes - there were 11 or 12 ducks (there bunched up pretty tight - cold and windy) in the bunch and only about 4 wood ducks. I did see a merganser flying into the same houses the woodducks were using.
