Members Only Fluid Forum View   08/08/2017

Fluid forum view allows members only to get right to the meat of this community; the topics. You can toggle between your preferred forum view just below to the left on the main forum entrance. You will see three icons. Try them out and see what you prefer.   Fluid view allows you, if you are a signed up member, to see the newest topic posts in either all forums (select none or all) or in just your favorite forums (select the ones you want to see when you come to Fishing Minnesota). It keeps and in real time with respect to Topic posts and lets YOU SELECT YOUR FAVORITE FORUMS. It can make things fun and easy. This is especially true for less experienced visitors raised on social media. If you, as a members want more specific topics, you can even select a single forum to view. Let us take a look at fluid view in action. We will then break it down and explain how it works in more detail.   The video shows the topic list and the forum filter box. As you can see, it is easy to change the topic list by changing the selected forums. This view replaces the traditional list of categories and forums.   Of course, members only can change the view to better suit your way of browsing.   You will notice a “grid” option. We have moved the grid forum theme setting into the main forum settings. This makes it an option for members only to choose. This screenshot also shows the removal of the forum breadcrumb in fluid view mode. Fluid view remembers your last forum selection so you don’t lose your place when you go back to the listing. The benefit of this feature is easy to see. It removes a potential barrier of entry for members only. It puts the spotlight on topics themselves, and not the hierarchical forum structure. You as a member will enjoy viewing many forums at once and switching between them without leaving the page. We hope that fluid view, the new functionality is an asset that you enjoy .

Busy, Busy, Busy....

Recommended Posts

The Mrs. and I were on the wheelers Saturday out of Isle heading to Red Top. Couldn't believe all the wheelers out...it was great to see all the people, by far the busiest we have seen the trails. Also saw the CO's out checking people which was a first on the wheelers for me. Looked like everyone was having a great time, and following the rules as well. So were there any other FMers out Saturday?

I kind of figured Red Top would be busy so I opted for the other side of the pond at Pine Center. There were others out riding but not many. The trails were fairly dusty but probably not as bad as the Soo. I think I like the Red Top trails a little more though. How were the trails? Were they all open? I think I'm going to go there next time.

Yes things were a little dusty, but we expected that. We had also considered Pine Center but opted for RedTop. Only trail that was closed was "Foxxy Run" which was closed all last year from what I can remember. Trails were in good shape in general. Did run across the "new water hole" along the trail that several people were hanging around. Saw one person attempt to go across...was doing ok until he started to float. We had a good time, probably close to 3 hours riding, maybe a little more.

There were 12 of us that ran up to Spider Lake on Sunday. All of the campsites were full but only saw the same 25 wheelers all day. The trails weren't too dusty but the logging roads were tough. All of the water holes were dried up...now I can see why a couple of them always swallow up wheelers! We had a good day and put on about 42 miles.

he might be referring to the water hole over by the Sandhills trail (part of Redtop). I think that's what it's called. People have been in there for years, but we finally got some clarification last year whether or not this was part of the trail.

7mm You are correct that is the section of trail we were on, I was surprised there was that much water. So on the clarification...is it or isn't it? I assume it is because it isn't fenced off in any way.

    • With 3 different Holiday get togethers in the next few weekends I'm booked until after the 1st anyway.  Have fun and give a report if you make it out.
    • I used to have the same kind of setup, it uses quite a bit of battery to run it. Especially when liquor is added and the volume goes up. I now use a portable radio and AA batteries. Works good enough. This year I have one of my kids old Ipod loaded up with music and one of those bluetooth rechargable speakers. Good for places without much radio station choices.
    • Hopefully it feeds better than some of the older WSSM type loads.
    • I just registered my last week. you don't need a weigh slip but you need to know how much it weighs empty and what the gvw is. There are two spots on the homemade trailer sheet for those two numbers.
    • Thanks for all the replies and suggestions.  Having it plugged in isn't a necessity so I'll probably just skip plugging it in all together. I didn't realize that the block heater were that high of wattage so it'll be a much larger draw than I anticipated.
    • Not sure but I do know that the GPS on the units is said to be a big drain on the battery. We checked to see if the GPS could be turned off and were told it could not.  The screen brightness on these units also has a big impact on battery life so the darker you can have the screen the better for battery life.
