One of the biggest things when replacing your cams is to make sure your timing marks line up right. You can punch a valve through your piston if everything isn't lined up right.

You'll need a torque wrench to tighten everything down per manufacturer specs. The job can be accomplished by the average shade-tree mechanic with the manuals available.
