Best anchor for the river

I'm looking to hold a 1750 fishhawk in some current, what are the suggestions??

Hands down, get a Richtor.

I like my Water Spike. It's kind of bulky, but it's light and once you get used to using it, it holds really well. I use mine on the St. Croix and Mille Lacs and have no problems.

I agree with boilerguy, the Richtor is the best anchor I've ever used. They're spendy, but worth it. I got my at Fleet and was a little cheaper than I've seen other places.

I have a Carlson Water Spike, and a Richter anchor.The Richter will be in the boat when on the river,no question about it.And if needed, I will be buying another Richter for river use, when two anchors are necessary.

Whatever you get make sure you have a long rope - 100 feet. It also helps to attach a chaing to the anchor and then the rope.
