Members Only Fluid Forum View   08/08/2017

Fluid forum view allows members only to get right to the meat of this community; the topics. You can toggle between your preferred forum view just below to the left on the main forum entrance. You will see three icons. Try them out and see what you prefer.   Fluid view allows you, if you are a signed up member, to see the newest topic posts in either all forums (select none or all) or in just your favorite forums (select the ones you want to see when you come to Fishing Minnesota). It keeps and in real time with respect to Topic posts and lets YOU SELECT YOUR FAVORITE FORUMS. It can make things fun and easy. This is especially true for less experienced visitors raised on social media. If you, as a members want more specific topics, you can even select a single forum to view. Let us take a look at fluid view in action. We will then break it down and explain how it works in more detail.   The video shows the topic list and the forum filter box. As you can see, it is easy to change the topic list by changing the selected forums. This view replaces the traditional list of categories and forums.   Of course, members only can change the view to better suit your way of browsing.   You will notice a “grid” option. We have moved the grid forum theme setting into the main forum settings. This makes it an option for members only to choose. This screenshot also shows the removal of the forum breadcrumb in fluid view mode. Fluid view remembers your last forum selection so you don’t lose your place when you go back to the listing. The benefit of this feature is easy to see. It removes a potential barrier of entry for members only. It puts the spotlight on topics themselves, and not the hierarchical forum structure. You as a member will enjoy viewing many forums at once and switching between them without leaving the page. We hope that fluid view, the new functionality is an asset that you enjoy .

97 grand prix ?

Recommended Posts

I just recently bought a 97 grand prix se that was used as a drug busting car. The one problem I have is that the passenger windows don't go down(power windows), any suggestions. Drivers side work nice, Haven't done any multi metering. Any ideas on how to fix?

Ps AirJer what do ya know about 79 dodge power wagon?

Welcome to HSO/FM JBD!

Ps AirJer what do ya know about 79 dodge power wagon?

Giggle, It should have been out out to pasture long ago! grin

I assume the grand am is a four door since you said the "passenger side windows". The first thing I would check is the master switch on the drivers door. A test light is ideal for this. Connect the test light to ground and check all the wires for power. Once you have noted all the wires that have power hold the passenger front window switch in the up position and recheck all the wires. Only one more wire should light up the test light. Do the samee thing for down. Again only one more wire should illuminate, If more than one wire lights up the master switch is bad and it is sending power on both wires to the window motor instead of supplying one power and one ground.

If that all checks out you will need to go to the passenger side switches and repeat the process. If that checks out than you'll have to pull the door panels and check to see if power and ground are making it to the window motor. Remember the switch will "switch" which wire is power and ground depending on if you want the window to go up or down.

If powers and grounds check out tap the motors while holding the switch in the down position if they magically start working you just solved the problem. 2 new window motors and your all set for Phoenix, If thats the car your talking. I'd just make sure the a/c works before you leave!!!!

4wanderingeyes, can you get a wiring diagram for this? JBD is my brother so if you could send it to me I'll get it to him. If you can thanks in advance!!

Now I don't feel so bad, you did the same thing I did on another thread a while back.... He said Grand Prix, and you are talking Grand Am. Either way the procedures to check are the same. But I've put quite a few more window motors in Grand Prixs than Grand Ams for some reason, although the last Grand Prix I did ended up being the switch AND the motor.

I put in a motor and it worked good, but it also had an intermittent bad switch, that cost me a comeback and I don't like those frown

Thanks for the Diagrams. Buy the way I rebuilt the carb. on the truck and am in the process of rebuilding the brakes. seems to run ok if you let it warm up some. Sounds sweet with no exhaust and that dixie horn. HA Thanks again.

    • Not a cowbird. We have several around here and they are generally dark-black grey and brown. The pictured bird almost looks as though it could be an immature yellow headed blackbird. Cowbirds are quite reclusive and we have been surprised they come out to our feeders, but they have become pretty regular customers. Like the deer that graze in the front yard. Last night we had the buck, doe and twin fawns and even though we talked softly to them they did not spook,  but seemed to simply acknowledge our presence on the deck and continued to feed. And of course, as usual, the black squirrels are gathering all MY walnuts!  darn.....I just can't win. The chipmunks eat my strawberries, deer eat tomato plants and squirrels eat my walnuts. I'm left with this old bottle of Beefeaters, a small bottle of vermouth and a few olives in a jar.  Things are tough out here in the wilderness.
    • Quincey should be a solid guy. I don't recall watching him play, but by looking at his stats over the years it appears to be an upgrade over Scandella.
    • Just looked up the yellow. Definitely not, no white on wings and way too yellow. And all the pictures of a cowbird on Google don't show a cowbird with the rusty colored ring on it's back.
    • Spending most of my time in Dallas these days due to my job.  Will be fishing the Otter County Area in a couple of weeks.  Can't wait!  Just wondering what you guys are seeing?  I am assuming the Bass are in and will be in their late summer patterns which to me means that you could find 'em anywhere.  One of the questions my friend had (I guess watching KVD in Elite Series and  Major League fishing -- I think his recent win on the Elite Series on St Lawrence River was mainly a drop shot) was jerk baits for this time of year.  Frankly, I use mostly jigs and plastics.  Watching KVD, I think I should give jerk baits more a try.
    •  It looks yellow in the bad picture but it's a very rusty medium brown. Definatly in the blackbird family though I think. I need a decent camera. Eye guy, you told me about a not too expensive digital camera with a good zoom lens didn't you? I don't think that's it. The ring on its back is the same rust color.
    • Of course!  Yaller headed B bird, like the Duffster said.   https://www.allaboutbirds.org/guide/Yellow-headed_Blackbird/id
    • Yellow headed blackbird?
    • It looks way to light brown to be a cowbird but I see nothing else in my bird book it could be??? I know this is a bad picture but it's the best I can do. The thing is so tame I can almost walk right up to it and it never goes away for long.
    • Thanks for the replies. I am going to get a box of 1 3/4 #5's and a box of 1 3/4 #6's and pattern them against what I have been shooting, Hope to get that done when I go up to mow my trails this fall, whenever I can free up some time to go. I will post some results.
    • Ya saw that yesterday, glad to have him back, should shore up that 4th line or put him up on the 3rd if Ek isn't ready. Everything I saw last year from Ek has me thinking he is ready but time will tell. Need to sign Foligno yet, probably won't like the numbers I see but maybe he can surprise us. Forward group should still look really good this year, obviously the D took a hit when we traded Scandella and let Folin walk but we could still be ok, sometimes team D can make up for it. Oloffson looked good last year too, not sure about Quincy but hopefully they can form some kind of decent bottom pair.
