Lowrance X 85 problem

We fished LOW Whitefish Bay this week and discovered in depths deeper than 120 feet it would not return a reliable reading, at 130' it would show about 165', at 150' it would show about to 230'. Our old Bottomline gave us the correct depths. We had the X 85 on auto and tried various settings with no better results. Does anyone know what our problem is?

Sounds like your transducer isnt pointed straight down.

The ducer needs to angle a bit toward to bow. Try that. What degree cone do you have? Which side of the transom is the ducer mounted on. It needs to be on the starboard side of your boat.
