Members Only Fluid Forum View   08/08/2017

Fluid forum view allows members only to get right to the meat of this community; the topics. You can toggle between your preferred forum view just below to the left on the main forum entrance. You will see three icons. Try them out and see what you prefer.   Fluid view allows you, if you are a signed up member, to see the newest topic posts in either all forums (select none or all) or in just your favorite forums (select the ones you want to see when you come to Fishing Minnesota). It keeps and in real time with respect to Topic posts and lets YOU SELECT YOUR FAVORITE FORUMS. It can make things fun and easy. This is especially true for less experienced visitors raised on social media. If you, as a members want more specific topics, you can even select a single forum to view. Let us take a look at fluid view in action. We will then break it down and explain how it works in more detail.   The video shows the topic list and the forum filter box. As you can see, it is easy to change the topic list by changing the selected forums. This view replaces the traditional list of categories and forums.   Of course, members only can change the view to better suit your way of browsing.   You will notice a “grid” option. We have moved the grid forum theme setting into the main forum settings. This makes it an option for members only to choose. This screenshot also shows the removal of the forum breadcrumb in fluid view mode. Fluid view remembers your last forum selection so you don’t lose your place when you go back to the listing. The benefit of this feature is easy to see. It removes a potential barrier of entry for members only. It puts the spotlight on topics themselves, and not the hierarchical forum structure. You as a member will enjoy viewing many forums at once and switching between them without leaving the page. We hope that fluid view, the new functionality is an asset that you enjoy .

2002 Ford Windstar brake light coming on....

Recommended Posts

Hello Everyone,

Just had this happen this previous weekend. Driving for 250 miles and my brake light and abs light come on and stay on. I get to my destination (15 miles) and shut off my vehicle. Then 1/2 hour later go out and start it up and the lights are off. Did minor driving the rest of the weekend nothing came back on. On our way home yesterday they came back on again around 200 miles of travel. Once we got home I started it back up again about 20 min later and they stayed off. This is the first I have had them come up and also both times were driving with cruise control on and without cruise control and never hit the brakes to initiate the brakes.

I know for the diagnostic test the check engine light needs to be on or the lights need to remain on at all times. Could these be a short somewhere? Does this have something in the memory that it knows the rotors or pads need to be replaced? For instance this model does for low tires a light comes on.

BigwadeS,

Do you have loss of brake pressure in peddle at any time?

Check the brake fluid level. If it slightly low, it can trigger a dash brake light to come on. As the pads wear down, the calp. push out to compensate for the pad loss, which in turn draws fluid from the reservoir and causes the red brake light and possibly the A.B.S. light to come on. Most times right after a corner.

If the brake fluid is not low, then a diag. might be in order.

Not a loss in pressure, but just can tell they are getting close to the replacement time frame, just not as tight as they once were. I will double check the fluid again to make sure it is good.

If the red light came on there is only a few things that will turn it on, low fluid, parking brake on, or the cruise control deactivation switch is bad. Check the fluid, make sure the parking brake is all the way released, down. Unplug the deact switch on the master cylender see if there is brake fluid on the connector, if there is replace the switch and connector.

Exactly!! If the fluid is low, get your brakes checked. The front pads are probably worn but they also had problems with the rear wheel cylinders, leaking and/or siezing.

If the ABS light is on it will also turn on the brake light. Likely there is a code stored if the ABS light was on. The brake light will not turn on the ABS light. I think the reasoning behind that it people are more likely to be concerned if the brake light is on rather than just having the ABS light on. Other manufacturer will turn on a combination of the brake, traction control, VSS, and check engine light if the ABS malfunctions.

    • If you're rolling with 4 and a half inch car speakers which seem pretty standard for wheelhouses, you're just not gonna get much for bass out of the things, especially if they are el cheapos.  Which also seems pretty standard for wheelhouses. I don't own a wheelhouse, but for the portable, the boat, the garage, etc, I use a Bluetooth speaker.  Lasts all day on a charge and puts out pretty rich sound for $100.
    • Yup... you're right. 3000# for both brakes and licensing
    • Electrics augers are crazy nice in wheelhouse. I know that propane and 4-strokes give off WAY less fumes then the augers of yesteryear... but the new auger setups essentially have a slush copter built in with the reverse option.
    •   Not a chance that Nils is closing, quite the opposite as they can't make them fast enough. The Tanaka powerhead and transmission made by Hitachi (great product btw)was discontinued a few years back along with many other Tanaka power tools.   I thought that might effect Nils but timing and trend of going electric plus new higher torque drills and lithium higher amp hr batteries made the transition seamless.
    • Strange to win 3 OT games, I think we have or had the worst 3 on 3 ot record in the league. Also imagine how screwed this team would be without Staal, what a gift. Hated that 3 year term when he signed but kind of wish he had an extra year or two on this contract.
    • My budget would be more like this one: https://www.amazon.com/Raptor-Whisper-Air-Rifle-177/dp/B01AMAO86Y/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1513086150&sr=8-2&keywords=22%2Bpellet%2Bgun&th=1&psc=1   And you can get this one in either .177 or .22 evidently.
    • A gun is a gun, I like them all! This one is BA but a lot more than I personally would spend on an air rifle..... https://www.cheaperthandirt.com/product/tactical-armada-22-pcp-1000-fps-028478145122.do?sortby=ourPicks
    • Thanks for the extra pics.  Always nice to see how other houses are built.  Enjoy your new house.
    • The slush copter works great until you get into the 4' ice on LOW.  I still use the slush bucket in combination with the slush copter, the Nils auger likes to throw ice/slush and it keeps more off the floor and the walls.
    • Is that paneling on the walls and ceiling or what is it and where did you get it? Thanks.
