Options to troll down my "big motor"

Recommended Posts

After watching hundreds of boats doing the traditional Lindy rigs with only marginal success on Mille Lacs, we tried trolling cranks in shallow water and picked up 7 fish in about 2 hrs. Only problem was my 115 will not troll below 2.8mph. I tried dragging a driftsock which slowed the speed but made steering difficult. I would consider a kicker but would rather not spend the money and add the extra weight if I don't have to, as I only occasionally troll. ANY IDEAS??

There is a perfect (and I mean perfect) solution for you and it will only cost you $40 (the price of another drift sock). It's called the lindy twin bag trolling system, 2 socks under the boat, you can read about it and see pictures on their HSOforum. Let me know if you can't find it.

I found the "Tamer Trolling System" at the Lindy site using two socks evenly spaced under the bow....looks great! Should help stabilize steering in the wind also....thanks for the tip!
