Scott M
Just like the classified, hsolist and hsolist are all great places to find buys on ice fishing stuff during the off season, garage sales are a great way to score stuff cheap, with no shipping or driving!Friday I found a one man similar to a Clam Scout for $40. Not a bad deal.Garage sale season is between now and the first few weeks of June. Keep your eyes open and check the newspapers. Get there early! icehousebob
I've been told I have a Black Belt in garage sailing(that's the spelling that experts use). My offspring and friends put in orders for me to get them stuff. Rods, power augers, reels, furniture, antique tools, cookware. I can find it. Last week, I picked up a knife block with seven Wustoff kitchen knives for 18$. Two of my kids tried to tell me that they needed it more than me. My wife claimed it. Old down hill skis make great ice fishing sled runners. They can be found for a buck or two a pair. When my kids were young, I would buy old summer rods and reels for a buck or so and shorten them up for cheap kid rods. The greatest sale was a pro fisherman that was selling gear. He had new cranks at 4 for 5 bucks. Plus bunches of other outdoor gear. I had to buy another tackle box after that one. Remember, its not a great deal unless you have a use for it... Weed Shark
I just sold a Clam 5600 at a garage sale this spring. My sign read, "$1...HAVE FUN!"My profit was still over 100 times what I paid for it.
tisosy11
That was extremely generous of you. I still havn't decided what I am going to do with my 5600...might put a new tarp on it and save it for buddies use...not quite sure yet.
Weed Shark
It was an old model. You had to stretch the canvas over the non-telescoping poles every time you put it up or down. One of the zippers was a pain, too (best to use the other one).I hope it made some kid’s day. It could keep them warm a few years, before getting something better.
