      Members Only Fluid Forum View   08/08/2017

      Fluid forum view allows members only to get right to the meat of this community; the topics. You can toggle between your preferred forum view just below to the left on the main forum entrance. You will see three icons. Try them out and see what you prefer.   Fluid view allows you, if you are a signed up member, to see the newest topic posts in either all forums (select none or all) or in just your favorite forums (select the ones you want to see when you come to Fishing Minnesota). It keeps and in real time with respect to Topic posts and lets YOU SELECT YOUR FAVORITE FORUMS. It can make things fun and easy. This is especially true for less experienced visitors raised on social media. If you, as a members want more specific topics, you can even select a single forum to view. Let us take a look at fluid view in action. We will then break it down and explain how it works in more detail.   The video shows the topic list and the forum filter box. As you can see, it is easy to change the topic list by changing the selected forums. This view replaces the traditional list of categories and forums.   Of course, members only can change the view to better suit your way of browsing.   You will notice a “grid” option. We have moved the grid forum theme setting into the main forum settings. This makes it an option for members only to choose. This screenshot also shows the removal of the forum breadcrumb in fluid view mode. Fluid view remembers your last forum selection so you don’t lose your place when you go back to the listing. The benefit of this feature is easy to see. It removes a potential barrier of entry for members only. It puts the spotlight on topics themselves, and not the hierarchical forum structure. You as a member will enjoy viewing many forums at once and switching between them without leaving the page. We hope that fluid view, the new functionality is an asset that you enjoy .

GM truck antilock brake issue

I have a 2001 Tahoe & brother-in-law has 99 GMC truck, both had anti-lock turn on and stay on during normal driving. Only way to stop was to pull fuse....any ideas?

Rust and/or corrosion under front wheel speed sensors can cause this. There may have been a TSB for this if I remember. I just did a 99 with this problem last Thursday! Basically the sensors have to be removed, clean the mating surfaces, apply anti-corrosion sealer and reinstall. No parts needed if this is the problem.

This bulletin is being revised to change model information. Please discard Corporate Bulletin Number 02-05-25-006 (Section 05 -- Brakes).

Condition

Some customers may comment on ABS activation at low speeds, usually below 8 km/h (5 mph). Upon investigation, the technician will find no DTCs set.

Cause

The cause of this condition may be an increased air gap between the wheel speed sensor and the hub reluctor ring due to rust and debris built up on the sensor mounting surface.

Correction

Measure AC voltage and clean wheel speed sensor mounting surfaces.

1) Raise the vehicle on a hoist.

2) Disconnect both the front wheel speed sensor harness connectors.

3) Place a DVM across the terminals of each sensor connector.

4) Rotate the wheel with hand speed and measure the ACmV's. The reading should be at least 350 ACmV's.

5)If the reading is between 200 and 350 ACmV's, remove the wheel, caliper and rotor in order to gain access to the speed sensor.

6) Remove the wheel speed sensor and plug the hole to prevent debris from falling into the hub during service.

7) Clean the speed sensor mounting surface on the hub to remove rust and corrosion.

Important

Make sure that the sensor sits flat on the hub. If the sensor flange is distorted, replace the sensor.

8) Apply a thin layer of bearing grease to the hub surface prior to sensor installation.

9) Install either the original sensor or a new one in the hub and secure the sensor. Ensure that the sensor is seated flush against the hub.

10) Install the rotor, the caliper and the wheel.

11) Place the DVM across the sensor terminals and recheck the voltage while rotating the wheel by hand. The voltage should now read at least 350 ACmV's.

    • In SD you can only buy one any weapon Black Hills tag in the spring.  There is a state-wide archery only tag that can be used out here as well.   Usually it is tough to get just one bird, so I don't buy an archery tag.   This year we planned on rock climbing after shooting turkeys, so we are kicking that off a little quicker than expected.   I do not believe it is possible to buy non-res over the counter tags, even though it is not a lottery, and buying online requires shipping to an address that takes a few days...   I also did not bring my bow, but if my uncle has a bow for me to use I might call game and fish to see if I can buy an archery tag in Rapid and hunt a bit each day before we go climbing.

    • What a difference a week makes! Even far northern Wisconsin is finally making it to spring. With temperatures in the 50s and 60s, snow is melting quickly in the Northwoods, although it isn't gone yet and it may be awhile before its gone in the woods. Northern lakes still have up to 2 feet of ice and it's looking at this point that some lakes will still be iced over when the general fishing season opens on May 5. Last Friday both Big and Little Manitou Falls at Pattison State Park were completely ice covered, but with warmer temperatures, they both came to life. People were eager to see the transformation with more than 385 vehicles visiting the park over the weekend to view the falls. Both Forks of the Flambeau are also open now and their falls are roaring.As things are drying out, we're also moving into the spring wildfire season. In the last week 60 wildfires burned 129 acres in DNR Protection Areas. Half of the fires were caused by debris burning. Stay aware of fire danger and burning restrictions by searching the DNR page for keyword fire. .
