I used a 1-man portable last year, and there never seemed to be room for everything. Go for the 2-man, that's what I have and really like it. It's big enough, but it's still small enough to move around easily. Especially if you are planning on fishing two holes, with a stove/heater, a lantern, etc...the extra room also brings safety.

I like the two man. I have a Frabill RangerXLTWIN and love it. Lots of room for me an we fish two out of it quite frequently as well. The one mans are easier to move around. I dont have a sled or wheeler but with no snow on the ice this year so far its a breeze. It's a little more work with snow on the ground. If you have a wheeler or sled I would definitly go 2 man. Plus you can always bring a friend if the situaton arises. That's impossible with the one mans.
Taking all of the above into consideration there is still the matter of $$$ at least for some of us:+) If thats an issue get one on clearance the end of the season. I have bought 3 of the 4 I have owned that way and saved a ton of $$
That's my $0.02 Goodluck
