The LPS-1

4 posts in this topic

I see that there is a hand held depth finder called the The LPS-1 made by Vexilar. Has anyone used this unit or have any feedback regarding its' effectiveness through the ice? We fish ice up to 30" thick.

D-man, how well does the LPS-1 work thru milky, or cloudy ice? How does it compare to Strikemaster's Powervision? I am considering one or the other of these units, but haven't seen either one in action on the ice.

I have used both on Mille Lacs. The both work good even in cloudy ice. I didnt have any problems. I used them to quickly locate points for rental houses when i worked the ice on Mille Lacs..
