ellevold
I have a 40 horse Johnson and its leaking down by the prop. I was wondering what kind of chore it is to change that seal or could it be something else? Your help would be appriciated.
0 Guest
We had the same problem and it usually is the seals behind the prop. We have a 35 Evinrude im figuring this is similar. There is a seal to keep the grease in and another to keep the water out. Seals run around $9 each and we had an easy time getting the first seal in. but the second was a bugger as the guy at the parts store said it would be. You have to find something to fit over the shaft to tap it in and be carefull. We used a piece of copper pipe.
