Fly Fishing

2 posts in this topic

Markley,
Bass, Pike and panfish can all be caught on flies. For bass and pike, a 7 or 8 weight rod and an assortment of larger poppers and streamers with about a 1 to 2/0 hook works well.
For panfish, it's hard to beat a 5 weight rod. And for flies, small poppers, foam spiders, and mosquito imitations are my favorite. Just about any of the flies you would use for trout work great for panfish.
Hope this helps you out.
Good Luck!!

I have an uncle who is coming out to Minnesota and he is big in Fly Fishing. He wants to fish lakes in the Detroit Lakes and Park Rapids area. What fish can you catch with Fly Fishing (Walleye, Pike, Bass, Panfish)? Also, what can of flies should he use in the lakes and what size hook?

Thanks!
