Question

I have the garmin gps 76, and I was wondering if it was possible to download maps with the Hot Spots software. Thanks much!

If you are referring to the GPSMAP 76 yes it is. In your hotspots software use the map tool to select the map you want the go to transfer or save to device icon and when you click on it make sure that "map" is selected the go ahead and transfer this will transfer the map and the hotspots for that lake. Real easy. Hope this helps.

I just have the GPS 76, and the reason I was wondering is because in the bottom left corner of the screen, it says no map. I dont know how to get this off, or what Im doing wrong, so any help would be great. One more question, would a small custom calaborated map fit on this unit? Thanks!

I have a map 76 also, but I'm not sure if you can download into the 76.
Try the garmin HSOforum they have just about any info on any of their units.
