Sturg
I've had some on my flowers this week too. I was wondering what they are called. They are fast flyers!
teal50
We have had thousands of painted ladies the last two days. They have been like a cloud on the road, around areas with water. Amazing numbers. Think they are starting their migration and they must have had one of those sporadic population bursts. I hope they are still around today, I'd like to get some video or photos of them.

Tom Sawyer
Hilarious!!! Couldn't keep count on how many we drove over on the highway near Big Birch the other day; I'm sure they were drying their newly hatched wings on the warm tar. They sure have been hatching big time the last week... Edited September 5, 2017 by Tom Sawyer eyeguy 54

RebelSS
Buy a butterfly ID book, then stop and look next time. You've got a lot of time and money.
