leech~~
57% Wow. What did the DNR do to make such an improvement?
birdguy
They say it beats the counts taken during the last peak in 2009. monstermoose78

monstermoose78
The arrowhead had a wet cold spring which is hard in young grouse. Don't mean to be burst your bubble. Around central Minnesota it seems we have had a good hatch. Turkeys pheasants and grouse best of luck guys leech~~

And my dog has been bumping quite a few up when we go for our walks. I think us grouse guys are in for a good year. And cool weather next week leech~~
monstermoose78
We have not seen many young grouse all summer driving the back roads of the arrowhead. See a couple adults birds but they were single birds. I have seen more young birds around Princeton than the arrowhead.
birdguy
Two trips planned this year, one to Silver Island Lake area on opener to also take in a little walleye fishing. Cover will be thick on opener, but that's the dogs job to take care of. Second trip is the annual seven day trip friends and I take to the Orr area in mid October. We've hightailed it out of there in near blizzard conditions at times, what a difference a month makes this time of year up on the border. monstermoose78
