Popular Post Borch
The past week has had me having multiple close calls and missing a brute at 45 yards. Tonight I talked my dad to give it another try and there were birds in the field when we got there. Birds ended up leaving as we tried to sneak in. A short 20 minutes later they were back and we watched and worked the big group of toms and hens for more than 2 hours before we got one to commit. Dad shot him with his 20 gauge at 48 yards,(this thing shoots an awesome pattern). The 3 year old was down and only flopped a few times. Nice 1+ inch spurs, 10" beard and heavy. A good evening for sure. hugonian1, DonBo, monstermoose78 and 3 others

Borch
Well I tagged out this morning. I got out later as my daughter and her family were over so I headed out after breakfast. I drove by the field to see if there were any there so I could plan a route to the blind. There was a fl8cknof Jake's and a flock of longbeards. I quickly snuck into my blind and stuck a funky chicken decoy out. As I was stepping into the blind the Jake's start clearing the trees between the blind and them. They worked around out front a ways. Suddenly I see 2 toms fly into the field. The jakes immediately charged the toms driving them out of the field. After that the jakes saw the funky chicked and headed over to check it out. With the toms gone and time slipping away I picked one out and shot him at 30 yards. He'll taste good on the grill this summer. Got in the blind at 10 am and was done by 10:15 am. It's been a long season. ANYFISH2
Good Borch! I have seen a large up tick of birds locally as well this last. Although not hunting. Trying to convince the wife and kids to hit a time or two yet. Borch
