Members Only Fluid Forum View   08/08/2017

Fluid forum view allows members only to get right to the meat of this community; the topics. You can toggle between your preferred forum view just below to the left on the main forum entrance. You will see three icons. Try them out and see what you prefer.   Fluid view allows you, if you are a signed up member, to see the newest topic posts in either all forums (select none or all) or in just your favorite forums (select the ones you want to see when you come to Fishing Minnesota). It keeps and in real time with respect to Topic posts and lets YOU SELECT YOUR FAVORITE FORUMS. It can make things fun and easy. This is especially true for less experienced visitors raised on social media. If you, as a members want more specific topics, you can even select a single forum to view. Let us take a look at fluid view in action. We will then break it down and explain how it works in more detail.   The video shows the topic list and the forum filter box. As you can see, it is easy to change the topic list by changing the selected forums. This view replaces the traditional list of categories and forums.   Of course, members only can change the view to better suit your way of browsing.   You will notice a “grid” option. We have moved the grid forum theme setting into the main forum settings. This makes it an option for members only to choose. This screenshot also shows the removal of the forum breadcrumb in fluid view mode. Fluid view remembers your last forum selection so you don’t lose your place when you go back to the listing. The benefit of this feature is easy to see. It removes a potential barrier of entry for members only. It puts the spotlight on topics themselves, and not the hierarchical forum structure. You as a member will enjoy viewing many forums at once and switching between them without leaving the page. We hope that fluid view, the new functionality is an asset that you enjoy .

Viking's Free Agency, 2017

  • Vikes to sign Reiff from Detroit. Solid move--there will likely be some sticker shock, but you have to (over)pay to playin FA. I like the move.
  • Still need OL help, a RB, perhaps a receiver, too. They made a play for Alshon Jeffery but he chose to go to Philly.
  • Kalil now in Carolina on a (if you can even believe it) 5 year/$55 million deal with $25 million guaranteed! Don't they have access to game film? My word...
  • Apparently Lacy is coming to town for a visit. Pass.
  • Locke is punting in Indy, Rhett Ellison to NY Gs, and apparently Jarius Wright was traded...somewhere
  • Wouldn't mind an offer for Murray from Oakland. Three down back.

Lots of pieces moving and we are just getting started! What do you folks want to see?

I see more players leaving than more getting signed.... lots of free agent offensive linemen signing with other teams that the vikes could use. Not impressed with offseason so far. And no first round draft pick this year.

I would have liked to see Patterson stay. I thought he was under utilized and was always a threat to return a kick for a TD. Sure he had route running issues but its not like they have depth at WR.

Then you see stories like this: Ellisons dad blasts vikings

Now watch they will end up still over paying and keep Peterson.

I think we did enough in FA and the draft to improve on O. Will we be a top ten O? No, nothing so drastic, but I think we move from near the bottom to closer to the middle, continue to get better on D, and that makes us a playoff threat. All of this, as always, hinges upon health, health, health, but I like our moves and the way we are fielding this team: Develop through the draft and use FA only as a way to find role players, not superstars.

Sounds like Cook is everything we hoped for upon first inspection. Obviously he needs to do it with pads on, but I think he was a great value in Rnd 2.

Skol!  I'm excited to see how Cooks pans out.  He seems legit so far!  What was the deal with KFAN ditching the rubechat forums?  I know the political page could get a little overheated at times but the others seemed pretty tame.  Too bad!

QB is the most important position on a team, therefore, unless you have an established Franchise QB and a solid back-up, a QB should be drafted every year, or a FA prospect signed that shows potential. Every year there should be a QB battle at camp.  We FAIL at QB.  Until that changes, we will never compete.

Bradford looked okay at times, I'm excited to see how he plays this year, but we have NOTHING to fall back on if he gets hurt or sucks. Teddy will likely never play again....  Why, oh why did we not add another QB in the draft! Who's the other bum we signed.. Keenum? Are you serious Spielman?!

While I agree we need to take more swings at QB, we do have a developmental QB on the roster in Taylor Heinicke, and by all accounts he's looked really good so far this summer. Had he not kicked through a pane of glass last year about this time we'd have seen more progression, but he's said to be quite a bit better than Keenum (which, granted, isn't saying much). Bradford has been great in camp, and I think he played outstanding last year considering how HORRIBLE our OL was. 20TDs to just 5 picks with no run game. Consider for a moment that Trent Dilfer won a SB with the Ravens while throwing 12 TDs to 11 picks in 11 games played... That's what a dominant defense can do, and we have one of those... We also have a QB that protects the ball and I think a great find in Cook at RB, and that is enough to make a run. The bottom line is if ANY starting QB goes down, that team is likely pooched that year in terms of their offense. Everything hinges on health in the NFL.

And just like that Heinicke had his worst day as a pro yesterday and looked completely lost, apparently. Wonderful...

    • I will decide if that is true when I get my nills back out. hopefully soon.
    • Would you be able to post pics of your bed again?  I really like that idea, very smart.  Would you make any changes on the next one.  Should get my firebrand shell this week, lots to do.
    • Beaver Bay sports rents although I've never used them.
    • There's really no wrong way of doing a roast if ya ask me, it's all personal preference. Crockpot,  roaster, oven or boiled (del) . Although I do enjoy throwing cold smoke this time of year at a roast before it hits the roaster!!
    • 2nd that,  30 years here...
    • oh wow!!!!!  poster too!!
    • Yer gonna be blowin' chunks one of these days, Delbert. Why not just an easy overnight marinade, then in the crackpot on low, and lift that lid a few times to keep the heat low? I always pull mine at 4-5 hours on LOW, not the 6-8 they say. I have about 155* internal and still pinkish at that, and I have 3 different crackpots I use. Never had it fail in oh, ten or fifteen years.....maybe because I always do a top round or rump, instead of an arm or chuck. You DO  occasionally get a tougher one, that has a lot of sinew in it, that's why I eyeball mine so carefully. (working 2 yrs at the butcher shop helped, too) I always let it sit in a covered glass dish for 10-15 mns before I start slicing away....
    • I worked with stainless for 28 years, it's the way to go.
    • Yeah, I forgot to include the LEM, which is basically the Rikon with a different badge. I know that style will cut better and definitely be a better unit. Just not sure if I am going to justify the price at 2x higher for a very occasional piece of equipment.    A wood bandsaw could be used. The saw doesn't know whether it's cutting meat or wood. The difference is that a stainless table and blades would be preferred IMO. Cleanup probably isn't much different between all of them.
