Sturg
I checked out the St. Croix along Hudson WI to watch the wintering Trumpeters. There were a couple of surprise visitors:
Sturg
Sorry, I Apparently posted the message before I finished adding pictures. There are about 100 trumpeter swans wintering in the open water near Hudson. Four Greylag geese dropped in Saturday morning. They are native to Europe so I'm guessing they escaped or were released by a collector. On Sunday morning there was a mute swan hanging around the trumpeters. The mute swan had a thicker build then the trumpeters. The mute swan's bill was wider. The trumpeters are graceful flyers but often squabble with each other in groups. They are fun to watch!
