Who will do it?

Should be some good games today, I'm definitely rooting for the Falcons and Steelers but I don't know man. The Pats just seem to play the best team ball in the League. Guys step up and perform at every different position.  The Packers are just scary in the post season, not so much the whole team but that dirty dog Aaron Rodgers.

I hope they both turn out to be competitive and exciting.

I'm with ya Jim, I hope that the teams that I despise lose.

But most of all, just entertain me.

Ya know it's  gonna be a Pats/Pack superbowl.......the refs will not have it any other way.

;)

Well 24-0 going into halftime... Gayrod is getting shut down. I think I'll fish instead of watch football lol. I'll watch the other game when I get back!

The Pack played very Vikingesque in the first half, a bunch of woulda, coulda,  shoulda.

With an AP type of fumble going in.

Uran......

I came here to tell ya to shut it and not jinx things at half..........too late.

:)

I get loving YOUR team and all but I will never understand the average sports fans obsession with "despising" other teams.

What is there to despise?

Really what is there to despise?  Everything about your rival team is to be despised!!!  Cant stand their colors, mascot, city, fans...usually a lot of the despising comes from interacting with one of your rivals fans and being just annoyed with them and listening to them go on and on as to why their team is so great!!  Like listening to an Alabama fan tell us how great of a team they are and yada yada yada:grin:

That's also called jealousy.

Do you do this in your real life? Have you ever been in a bowling league or softball league? If so, did you despise the other teams in your league?

I'm going to be honest, there are only two teams in the league I despise. One is the Packers, the other is the Seahawks. The Packers, the reason is obvious, the Seahawks it is more or less Richard Sherman lol AND their sickening cocky attitude AND their hoards of bandwagon fans.

I always root for the underdog in any game excluding the two above mentioned teams, and of course my Vikes.

Hey!   I've been a Seahawks fan since the beginning. We used to fly down from Alaska to SEA for the weekend:  the Washington Huskies on Sat. and the Seahawks on Sunday.  We ate cold oatmeal and hard bread for a lot of years before now. And I can remember in the old Kingdome when the floor would begin  to pulse and wiggle with fan cheering and raving!  It was scary sometimes.....I mean it....actually scary.

We ARE fans and sometimes we ARE cocky!

I can't argue with a die hard fan from the bad ol days lol You used to have the ugly jerseys and the only old Seahawk I remember is Steve Largent, one of the best receivers in history!

"Do you do this in your real life? Have you ever been in a bowling league or softball league? If so, did you despise the other teams in your league?"

I will say that when I play softball, just with my competitive nature or annoyance of certain teams, I do despise them to a point where when I play against them I take it a little more serious and want to win a little more as I hate losing to certain team more than others.  I usually don't have any relationships with players on those teams and there is usually a past experience to cause me to despise them.  But I don't take anything extra curricular serious enough to care past the game I am playing or watching...

I've also wondered why someone would obsess over which team another man may chose to support.  I've even known people to go as far as to start an entire thread about why people should ditch the Gophers.  its crazy, right?

LOL :)

I don't hate the Gophers, I even hope they turn it around sometime in my lifetime but I see no point in supporting a 50 year loser.

Plus Gopher fans are such a fun bunch to razz, they have such thin skin....;)

IMO I think it looks silly for Vikings fans to despise the Packers because whether it is or not, it always looks like jealousy.

You must be too young to remember back when they were never any good. It's all about perspective.

It's not jealousy, it's rivalry. Plain and simple. I hate those green and gold peckerheads. It's what makes the NFL so fun, not everyone pretends to be too good to hate their rivals.

Sure. IIRC once they changed out the balls they supposedly altered with ones at the supposed proper psi he threw for more yards and TD's than when the supposedly altered ones were in play.;)

    • I got my boat back today and it runs great now but the mechanic said I had too many idling hours on it and it had a lot of carbon build up. I have trolled a lot with this motor . It has ran great but I did have  this recent issue with it where I had to bring it in and it runs good now. Mechanic recommended run it more often at higher rpm's.  For those that troll with their main engine,  how often do you run in a higher rpm's? I  use carbon guard  and thought that that would prevent the carbon buildup.  If I trolled for three or four hours at a higher RPM would that be too much ?
    • Saw some reports from Algoma that looks like fishing has picked up some out there and some bigger fish being caught. I'm not ready for snow yet but I hope we actually get some this year.
    • Well I got it done. I got some bolts washers and rubber grommets. I drilled holes in the counter top. then brought the bolt up through it put a 1/2in rubber spacer then a washer and bolted right into the bolt holes where the leg levels went. It looks nice and will be nice not having to put the fridge up and down every time a guy moves the ice castle and should hold fine driving down the road.         Nice exactly what I need to finish the project, so the fridge door doesn't fly open when driving down the road.

    •   And it has some sort of virus.
    • The boat is getting lots of use,,,, Heading to Algoma july 29th and back to Isle Royale later in august
    • You're bolting a mini fridge to a countertop but worried that a tie down strap will make it look trashy? OK then.
    • The strong rainfall of the last few weeks was compounded this week with more rain accompanied by high winds, thunder and lightning, as well as several tornado watches across the state. Downed trees and branches and flooding was reported at numerous state properties throughout south western and south central Wisconsin. State park crews were actively clearing roads and trails, and we're expected to have additional updates before the weekend. Anyone planning on visiting a property in these areas is urged to contact the property directly for the latest conditions.Water levels across the state are still elevated and this week's rains means sand bars will likely be in short supply again on the lower Wisconsin River. With the high fast moving water many kayakers and tubers are taking advantage of the situation. A group of kayakers on the Peshtigo River said with the fast water they shaved an hour off the time it normally would take them for a river trip.Wild weather has put a damper on fishing pressure across the state and there are isolated reports of partially submerged fishing piers. Anglers have reported some success for catfish on the St. Croix River and anglers have been having success fishing the Flambeau River for musky, walleye, northern pike and bass. Largemouth bass fishing has picked up with high waters in Dane County rivers and there were reports of an uptick in walleye and perch are coming in from Lake Winnebago. .
    • Well there are a lot of ways to do it.   I'm going to bolt it down through the counter top, using the bolt holes for the leg levels. The idea of using straps and d rigs would look like dump and Be pretty pointless........it would be has much work having to ratchet strap the thing every time I was going to move vs setting it down on the floor.
