Just saw an FL-18 ultrapack for $200 at my neighborhood pawn shop. Seems like a pretty good deal. Any thoughts?

That could be a good price if it works and is not to old and wore out.

Check that battery too...!  Listen to it while running....if the brushes are worn/bad, you can usually tell. Check the 'ducer for dings, crackes in cord, etc, and do what eyeguy mentioned. If it passes, yer good to go!

Just hold the bottom of the ducer to your ear with the unit on and if you hear it clicking it's good. If not it's junk. ;)

Ya, that's what I thought too.....mine wasn't working, no depth or bottom...but was clicking away. Called my bud Chris at Marcum and he said they can be bad by not returning signal, but will still output. (click) He sent me a new one. Bad one was bad, I later found out...
