Fishing Line Favorites

I agree with eyeguy Trilene Micro ice clear. Smaller dia. more strength. Had braided spider wire for both summer and winter. UN-spooled ice rigs with the Trilene. Tangled mess when lines cross under ice, frays at eyelets needing to frequently cut 10' off end. Used the spider wire as thread on my wheelhouse flip out. Still use braided on rattle reels, 20# nice to have with 40" Northern's doing hand over hand.

Thanks for the suggestions so far.

I should add that most of the time I am going to be fishing with a six pound test targeting walleyes (and their neighbors) and my go to line in the summer has always been a Stren Lo-Vis green.  Nearly all of my fishing is in the stained waters of Rice County but in the winter the water clears up tremendously.  Thought that maybe I would try something new this year.

But I also have an ultra-light used for jigging panfish with an inline reel.  I don't remember what 3 lb test I currently have on it, but I know I don't like it.  Way too fragile and too much memory.

For panfish and trout, I like Berkley's ice fluoro line in 3# or 4# test.  Extremely tough and allows for good hooksets while being nearly invisible in the water.  For walleyes, pike, and lakers, I go with Berkley again and use Fireline Ice in #8 and smoke-colored.  Not a fan of the white "invisible" version.  Good luck breaking this line on anything!
