Drakes have started Molting

3 posts in this topic

I'm seeing bachelor groups of drakes now and most have started molting.  Looks like the ducks and geese have had a great hatch in the metro area.  I saw numerous broods of mallards, wood ducks and geese yesterday.

That's how the duck world works. Those drakes HATE each other for months. But once those eggs are hatched, they split and go hang out with each other while the hens teach the next generation how to be ducks.
