Members Only Fluid Forum View   08/08/2017

Fluid forum view allows members only to get right to the meat of this community; the topics. You can toggle between your preferred forum view just below to the left on the main forum entrance. You will see three icons. Try them out and see what you prefer.   Fluid view allows you, if you are a signed up member, to see the newest topic posts in either all forums (select none or all) or in just your favorite forums (select the ones you want to see when you come to Fishing Minnesota). It keeps and in real time with respect to Topic posts and lets YOU SELECT YOUR FAVORITE FORUMS. It can make things fun and easy. This is especially true for less experienced visitors raised on social media. If you, as a members want more specific topics, you can even select a single forum to view. Let us take a look at fluid view in action. We will then break it down and explain how it works in more detail.   The video shows the topic list and the forum filter box. As you can see, it is easy to change the topic list by changing the selected forums. This view replaces the traditional list of categories and forums.   Of course, members only can change the view to better suit your way of browsing.   You will notice a “grid” option. We have moved the grid forum theme setting into the main forum settings. This makes it an option for members only to choose. This screenshot also shows the removal of the forum breadcrumb in fluid view mode. Fluid view remembers your last forum selection so you don’t lose your place when you go back to the listing. The benefit of this feature is easy to see. It removes a potential barrier of entry for members only. It puts the spotlight on topics themselves, and not the hierarchical forum structure. You as a member will enjoy viewing many forums at once and switching between them without leaving the page. We hope that fluid view, the new functionality is an asset that you enjoy .

Just heard the disco Star Wars Theme by Meco on The Current................it's been a looooong time since I heard it.

Spun that 45 on the ol turntable a ton of times almost forty years ago.

I'm getting old, but the Force is still with me.

My brother and I used to play that Disco Star Wars song on the 8-track player back in the 70s.

I still have the 8-track, just not a working player anymore.

It doesn't look like much, and always surprises me when an 18lb goose cooks down to 4/5 cups of shredded meat.

But soo worth the work.

Doesn't the 18 pounds include the feathers, feet, guts, head etc?   18 pounds dressed would be a heck of a goose, even by Rochester standards.

This song kinda came to mind with the mindset lately....but it's done and over, bury it, and move on with the fun!!!!!!! I don't expect it will be mentioned again.  :)

Yeah, that's the entire bird hit the ground weight. Not dressed and in the freezer.

Good morning.  The smoke from Canada is just starting to make the sky hazy here.  Not much but it is there.  My brother thought he would do something different a couple of years ago and got 2 tame geese to cook for a big family gathering.  He was thinking it would be like 2 turkeys as far as amounts.  Wrong..lol   We were surprised how much less meat was on a goose than a turkey.  It sure was good and thankfully there were lots of sides.  It was funny.

Well one more cup of java and off to work gents.  Have a good day all of you.

Morning guys, clear and 60* right now in the city by the bay...oh wait, that's a song by Journey, never mind.  Supposed to actually hit 85* today. Too toasty for me....74* is about right. Sure like that early am "summery" smell outside...apple blossoms are falling off crabapple tree now, air is sweet apple scented...lilacs are all budded out....mums are all up. That crab apple just went bonkers on the blooms...

Yada, yada, yada. Smurfy fantasy psychobabble. He's trying to say he had a "garden party". Busy weekend. Finished getting the boat ready. Popped batts and electronics in. Checked trolling motor remote control button to make sure motor followed commands and no-code reprogramming was needed. Front to back trailer check, too. Put all the rods and tackle boxes in. Pulled it outta the garage, hooked the water up, and she cranked over about four times and then....*VROOOOM*  Ready to hit the water. Just need to get that fishing license now. Made some apple wood smoked chicken on the grill with a new sauce I whipped up. Used some of that saucy racha (Sriracha) sauce Del is alway hootin' about, and mixed it with hickory BBQ sauce and a bit of teriyaki glaze. It was great. Gotta come up with a name now...maybe sassy saucy sauce. Had some maple beans, bacon cheddar pasta, and the ever-present green tops and radishes. Weather was perfect, and that meal on the deck in early evening capped the day off.

Have a good day, guys!  :)

    • Plus+1 last weekend got into a good bite in about 31-35 feet and they were all full of Minnows.
    • @Tom Sawyer   Any idea what this is with the painted lady?  Only saw this one at Munsinger.  Really a beauty.

    • Interesting take on the Koivu Signing:   Perhaps most galling about all of this is Michael Russo of The Athletic tweets there is a no-move clause in Koivu’s extension. Why on earth would Fletcher agree to include a no-move clause in an aging player’s contract? It’s bad enough when you give a no-move clause to a productive player who suddenly hits the cliff but in Koivu’s case there was no reason to do this. Heck, there was no reason to give him any type of extension in the first place. He also was entering the final season of a seven-year, $47.25 million contract that will pay him $5.4 million in 2017-18. Allowing Koivu to play out that contract made perfect sense. If he had productive 2017-18, he might be brought back but there also was the potential that his money could have been used on a younger, more attractive talent. Koivu is coming off a productive 2016-17 season in part because he was able to move from first- to second-line center playing behind 32-year-old Eric Staal. Koivu had 18 goals and 58 points and was a plus-27 in 80 games, spending much of the season with Mikael Granlund and Jason Zucker on his wings. Like many Wild players, Koivu didn’t do much in the Wild’s five-game first-round playoff loss to the Blues. He had one goal, one assist and was a minus-1. All of this set up Koivu with the opportunity to return this season and prove he could remain a productive and durable player. When it came to Koivu’s contract, the Wild finally was in an ideal spot. That is no longer the case. Instead, the Wild has Koivu locked up for three more years and, thus, put themselves right back in the type of salary-cap situation they should be trying to escape.
    • Thats the way I ran mine.  One run of AC comes from the converter, and one run terminates in a male plug that goes into my inverter.  That outlet run is dead unless I am running it off my inverter but I just split the couple outlets I would need behind the TV and one other spot and it seems to be working flawlessly so far.  I can watch Dish TV without firing up the genny if I want.  Only time I would really do this is during a hot bite to minimize noise.  Outside of that, just let er run.
    • I guess we'll see in 8/9 months if he's worth $6 Million.....my point is they could have waited and resigned him in the off season for less...he never would have gotten that elsewhere...never...just leaving money on the table that could be spent more wisely elsewhere IMO.  Surpirsed he hasn't extended Parise/Suter for another 5 yrs at $9M/yr beyond the 10 he already signed them for
    • I'm guessing that worms and crawlers wash into water systems after storms. So they are not totally foreign to being found in the water. Deep mudflats? Doubt it. But I do target storm sewer outlets on lakes shortly after rainfall with some success using natural colored rubber worms for bass. And have caught an occasional walleye while doing so.
    • Just relaxing and bobber fishing with the Mrs while camping up north 10 days ago, had decent sized suckers on. Had 8 suckers left for the evening bite. Found where some smallies seemed to be stacked. Two 18"ers, two 19"ers and what looked to be a 20" smallmouth that got off boat side.  A 23" walleye decided to get in on the fun, had a snip off and lost a fish in the weeds 25' feet down. Those were some productive minners. Bringing more next year. A nice double and my wife's new personal best bass. 19"
    • its same reason to cast frogs shallow back towards the shore late fall like they are jumping in the water. those walleyes know come fall thats what frogs do and are waiting to ambush them and makes for some great fishing.
