Members Only Fluid Forum View   08/08/2017

Fluid forum view allows members only to get right to the meat of this community; the topics. You can toggle between your preferred forum view just below to the left on the main forum entrance. You will see three icons. Try them out and see what you prefer.   Fluid view allows you, if you are a signed up member, to see the newest topic posts in either all forums (select none or all) or in just your favorite forums (select the ones you want to see when you come to Fishing Minnesota). It keeps and in real time with respect to Topic posts and lets YOU SELECT YOUR FAVORITE FORUMS. It can make things fun and easy. This is especially true for less experienced visitors raised on social media. If you, as a members want more specific topics, you can even select a single forum to view. Let us take a look at fluid view in action. We will then break it down and explain how it works in more detail.   The video shows the topic list and the forum filter box. As you can see, it is easy to change the topic list by changing the selected forums. This view replaces the traditional list of categories and forums.   Of course, members only can change the view to better suit your way of browsing.   You will notice a “grid” option. We have moved the grid forum theme setting into the main forum settings. This makes it an option for members only to choose. This screenshot also shows the removal of the forum breadcrumb in fluid view mode. Fluid view remembers your last forum selection so you don’t lose your place when you go back to the listing. The benefit of this feature is easy to see. It removes a potential barrier of entry for members only. It puts the spotlight on topics themselves, and not the hierarchical forum structure. You as a member will enjoy viewing many forums at once and switching between them without leaving the page. We hope that fluid view, the new functionality is an asset that you enjoy .

Happy Opening Day

Recommended Posts

I know there were games yesterday but today truly is opening day for me anyway. This year is the first year in a while that we can finally say the Twins are coming off a winning season and were in a playoff race all the way to the final series of the season. That’s fun!

There’s a lot to like about this team but I still think they are a year away from being a serious contender. They caught the league by surprise last year, and hopefully they can do it again for a second year in a row.

I am not sure how Sano will take to being an outfielder and I think it was a very questionable move. I still would have preferred to see Buxton, Rosario and Hicks out there instead. I didn't like the Hick trade at all.

It was unfortunate they also didnt make any changes or additions to bullpen but they could still be successful if arms stay healthy. I think offense will be fine and I like the line up there. They are going to need to put up a lot of runs to make up for average pitching a questionable outfield defense.

Go Twins!

Sano looked like he didn't belong out there. Which makes sense, because he doesn't! Saw something I never thought I would ever see...Mauer swinging at a first pitch! With only 161 games left, it's gonna be hard for the twins to dig out of a 1 game hole.

Not quite sure the Sano in right experiment. Did I hear or read he came into camp about 30 overweight ? The plan was about perfect if Mauer would've stayed catching, Plouffe at 3rd Sano at 1st. Kinda hard to see an athlete like Joe soaking up his innings at the 1 bag. Teams always though have plenty of 1 baggers and DH's it seems.

Seriously.....this gets so old. Its not happening, never will happen nor should it happen. It makes zero sense to move him back to catcher. It is the most physically demanding position in the sport and you think after Mauer's history of injuries he can still play that position?

At this point they have no choice to take what they can get with him at first, and hope for some sunglasses magic. Whether we like it or not there isn't another option.

I have always been a big defender of Mauer. But I'd love to see him restructure his contract or something if its even an option. Something has never been right between, Mauer and the training staff. And of course its always been a big secret and nobody inside or outside the clubhouse gets to mention it or question it. The fault lies on Mauer for trying to play through it and not mentioning issues to staff or bringing it to their attention. And I think the staff is as fault for some of it for not being able to diagnose it identify issues.

rundrave,

some good points, but as a twins fan for me this gets old as well.  The money he makes for his production.  The money the twins signed him for, he was never going anywhere else.  The seemingly passionless player he is.  The lack of power for 25 million.  The refusal of the organization to put him in right field, my guess is they didnt approach him, but mauer could have also said it would be in the best interest if I play there.  We all know why the twins drafted him, local kid.  Etc........    Hope he turns it around, at least we dont see him on the news for bad stuff off the field.

2 games into the season and I'm already sick of seeing Sano in right field! My biggest concern is that his poor play in the field might spill over into his hitting. Probably no chance of Mauer moving to the outfield. So that puts the twins in quite a pickle, if Sano is unable to figure out right field.

Cmon runDrave guy like I was saying move joe back to catcher if I was saying that that's exactly what I would've typed. It would have worked well if Joe could've stayed catching cuz sano could've had first last season and from then on. Now he's floundering out in right like a Jason kubel or delmon young.

I think the Twins went into the season hoping that Sano would be no worse than a 40-year-old Torii Hunter was last year in RF. Its early yet, maybe he can figure it out.

Couldn't have started the season any worse...

Anyone on here attend home opener? Curious to hear your thoughts on the new safety nets? Any issues or hardly noticeable?

Twins are 0-7, have been outscored 13-30. Have played 63 innings and only scored 13 runs!....just pathetic.

51 hits, 79 strikeouts again in 63 innings of baseball

buxton/sano

7-44, .159, 24 strikeouts

small sample size but this team needs to get it going.

There's nothing surprising here, Twins go several years doing horrible, have a surprise year, then have 4 or 5 more years stinking it up before another surprise year.

    • The Peacock Bass has been on my fishing bucket list since I first saw a picture of one when I was in elementary school. I don't think I'll make it to the Amazon anytime soon so when our Florida vacation was booked I made it a point to get to SE Florida and chase these beautiful specimens! For our adventure we went out near Miami, FL with local guide Captain Scott Rose. He shared a lot of information about this unique fishery and put us on both numbers and quality fish. Our Biggest 5 weighed in at 20.5lbs! This trip was something I won't soon forget.
    • I can recall,   farther back than you think, of running into one now and then and finding one inn a trap from time to time. And this was MORE than fifty years ago,  so they've been around a while. Maybe just an uptick in the population in southern MN.
    • For any of you that have ever had a desire to do any sledding in the Black Hills... This is definitely the year to do it. This is by far the most snow that I have seen out there. On most years, you can get lucky to ride either the Northern or Southern hills... This year both are awesome and the meadows are full! I am hoping to get out there once more before the end of the month.
    • Yeah, but somewhere in Iowa there is an imaginary line where the ratio of road kill flips from possums towards coons.   Their fur is pretty thin.   Had one under the deck a few winters ago that would literally shiver as he scavenged bird seed.  Missing a handful of toes, some bits of ear, and the end of his tail was black from frostbite.   About 20 years ago, I plowed my first armadillo in southern Missouri with the car.   Now it's about 50/50 on roadkill whether its a possum or a dillo.   They made their way up from Texas I guess.
    •   They have been hanging in there for the last couple decades in tropical Rochester area.
    •   Too many variables. Impact strength, airflow setting and wear factors, air pressure variance,  lubrication habits, and of course the operator. It's very easy to exceed what the stick is rated for. Not break the lugs next time tight, but maybe a free brake pulsation 2-3 months down the road after the rotor is distorted and runout turns into thickness variation.  I always use a size smaller with the impact turned all the way down and frequently have less than a 1/8 of a turn left to go. I will even tailor how heavy I pull the trigger and ALWAYS follow up with a torque wrench.     Left hand lugs was an old Mopar trick. Knowing about them does date you!
    • Had a 69 Dodge Charger that had left and right hand lug nuts. Was pretty much a Dodge/Chrysler thing
    • Broom and shovel then Shop Vac in the spring if it's real heavy. Or leaf blower to spread out on the yard to break down if lighter. The cardinals are preferring the white millet on the ground right now 3 to 1 where I live. The other feed I am using is sunflower and safflower.
    • I did that with some stale Christmas almonds, Blue jays found them and took all off them and deposited in the crotches of nearby tree branches. The nuts weren't out long, then they were gone.
    •   You could use your breaker bar now and re-torque while you are at home.
