Started our indoor leagues at Chilakoot this week, both spot and animal.

Any guesses which one I shoot?  It's nice to be able to look fwd. to something fun one night a week during the bleak winter months.

Hey Don, do you do it during week or weekends? I am gone just about every weekend, that keeps me from doing things around here then. But weekdays... hmmmm....

You guys who aren't getting in on this kind of fun, are really missing out.  One night a week I really forward too.

Everything was working last night. One arrow, 1/8", from a perfect game.  It's never been done at our league, maybe next week?

3rd place for my partner and I. 21 teams.  We had a lot of fun. 4 different targets shot 2 times over 10 weeks. Fun getting the nerves going again. 2009 was last time for league.

So I have  been doing 3D league at Bald Eagle this year. Only 3 miles from home. My first goal was to not lose any arrows. After the first couple rounds and 4 arrows down, I am now not losing any for the last several rounds ;)

My goal now is to not miss any targets, and getting at least a 5 on each. For the last two rounds I haven't missed, but still plenty of 5's. I am getting more 10s and even usually a couple 12's or so, so my score has been getting better, but still just a rookie.

I can now tell that my sight is "working" but not really a good one. I have three pins and need to add one more, but I also am capped at about 48 yards now with my long pin, with the long shots I am just walking up and shooting at 47-48, so I don't lose any more arrows ;) haha!

It has been fun and is building confidence, met some nice folks, and I can tell I am getting better. I am thinking the single pin for next year, but will stick with my three pin through hunting season this year, and save some $$ for a nice one, now that I know they really could help me.

    •   Dave, I’ll take a shot at your question. Just like you always say, we can’t be the police for the whole world. On the same lines we can’t be the world’s health and human services department as well.   Do you honestly think that people in need are only in Mexico a couple hundred miles from the US border? There are many people throughout the world that don’t have good jobs and find it tough to put food on the table. What separates those people from the Mexicans a couple hundred miles from the border? Do you want to tell the family in Africa that since they are a couple thousand miles from our border they don’t count?   It’s a cruel world as they say and the US caps immigration at a certain number each year. Is it fair for the people that wait their turn and go through the proper channels to immigrate here and then say oh well to the immigrants that sneak across the border illegally? There is a system in place and all immigrants should follow it whether they are 100 miles from our border or 2,000 miles from our borders.   In a perfect world we could let anyone that has a tough life into the US but that would be an astronomical number of people and our country and economy could not support that no matter how much we tried. What Jesus or good Christians would do is not feasible in today’s world, we can’t save all the people in the world no matter how hard we try.
    • You don't have to be suspicious of religion at all. Spend some time at church, if it fits you great, if it doesn't, you move on.   I went through dozens before i found a home,   If you are going to cast a suspicious eye. Do not start with governing body or a religion.   Start with the family, as that is where all the pressure, guilt and brain washing starts.
    • You'll still only be able to go so fast with tracks whether you're turning 2 or 4. Sure might add a little speed with just 2, but any incline or terrain, having only rear tracks is just going to get you stuck.
    •     What one did you get???
    • took to long but I finally  ordered the grill this morning!! looking forward to using it!!
    • 2.20.17 Sunset Lodge Fishing Report   Hello from the NW Angle!   We still have lots of ice up here, however the snow pack is diminishing rapidly, especially with the warm temps and rain in the forecast.   On the Minnesota side, fishing away from structure seems to be most productive with target depth being from 22-30 feet. Gold continues to be the hot color. The amount of perch we are seeing in our buckets continues to increase.   Fishermen on the Canadian side are still reaching their crappie limit with ease, fishing holes between 29 and 35 ft. A variety of baits are producing including, wax worms, mustache baits and dead minnows.   Until next week, Sunset Lodge Ice Team
    • this thread is making me soooo hungry!!!!!!!!  great looking food guys!!
    •   True.  Trump doesn't either.   Like I said, we should be more suspicious of rulers and oppressors who use religion as a tool than the religion itself.
    • We picked up a couple voles mid-last week, that must have come from our neighbor yard.  Once the neighbors snow melted, their nest was exposed and it is quite the elaborate colony too.  Got a deer mouse this morning also.
    • The new minn kota 300d didn't have the two 20ga wires so just spliced the black  to black and red to white from the charging cables, hooked all the batteries back up and everything is working again.
