Grouse Season right around the corner

Recommended Posts

I have a pretty good chunk of land in Gogebic County, this past weekend I cut my 9 miles of trails and saw plenty of birds.  I am hoping to have a successful and safe season, anybody else have any reports?  I think I really need to take up coyote hunting, they are pretty thick around my neck of the woods.

last year the hunting in the Walker area near our cabin was very good, since this year is getting closer to the approx 10 year peak I'm expecting it to be as good if not better.  Either way the walks in the woods with the dogs is awesome.

Ive been out a few times with the kids after the above report.  I continue to see and hear a good number of grouse, but only have managed to bag one or 2 each outing.  I wish I had a good pointer, I really think I would do a whole lot better.  The dog above is only good as a garbage disposal and a family companion:)
