Crow Hunter
I lost the wild plums on my land when I had some logging done, and would like to get more going. There is one growing in a place where I walk my dog, can you start new ones from branches? Or is it better to try it growing from the pits? Dotch
Good question and looks like you can do it either way. We have tons of them growing in the thicket on the road cut and they spread by runners or suckers as well. Have always wondered if I dug up some of the runners how they would do where they could contribute to wildlife along the fence line. Lots of plums on them this year too. Was munching on them while mowing lawn the other day. http://plants.usda.gov/plantguide/pdf/cs_pram.pdfhttp://homeguides.sfgate.com/can-start-native-plum-trees-stem-64986.html
