Anyone use this? Looks pretty fast and easy on the video's.  Going to help my son finish his garage walls and don't have days to get it done.

Pro's - Con's over paper tape?

The self-adhesive drywall tape has been around for a long time. At least 25 years ago I talked to a drywall rep who was in the office updating catalogs and I asked about the fiberglass tape because I was getting ready to do some taping in a bedroom. What he told me was that they had seen very mixed results. Sometimes it worked just fine and other times they would see a small crack develop at one edge of the tape. At that point in time they couldn't find a common denominator for when it would fail, so they didn't recommend it's use. I did use it once on a small job at home and didn't have any issues, but never used it again because I never saw a pro use it on any project, commercial or residential. Because this information is REALLY old, it might pay to call one of the drywall manufacturer's tech support folks and ask them.

Stuff works just fine, of course I have been using it for over 25 years so I am pretty good at applying it. I use it because I just never got around to using paper which can be a real pain to apply. After you get a hang of using it you can also use it to do your inside corners but you still need to buy your outside corners. Make sure your walls are dust free when you apply otherwise it makes it hard to apply tape to wall. Be careful not to put creases in it when applying. I have seams done in my house that are well over twenty years and they look just fine.
