kwiggy
I have a seat from a 2003 Lund Explorer that reclines a bit too much. The seat is in good condition so i hate to throw it away. I am wondering what my options are. These seats are so expensive i want to know all of my options before i toss it. Thanks
RebelSS
Why is it "reclining" so much? Base? Post? Seat bottom? All are fixable or replaceable.... Edited July 6, 2015 by RebelSS
kwiggy
The plastic hinge on the seat appears to be failing.
RebelSS
Oh...on the seatback. Dang, mine are metal (aluminum). You can buy new aluminum seatback hinges cheap...PM sent. Or, you can just Google "boat seat hinge". Edited July 6, 2015 by RebelSS
icehole10
I rebuilt all of mine a couple of years ago, but mine have the aluminum hinge and the with nutserts in the plywood, and the plywood was getting soft. Not sure on the plastic ones.
RebelSS
Attwood makes a replacement for that seat, I found it..you have to get the entire plastic "platform" or seat core. They may or may not have the one he needs, hope they do. kwiggy
mnguy152
i had the same problem with mine. I went to cableas got new seats when they were on sale think about 40 bucks a pair. I like them for the amount I fish they seam to hold up well. They are not the lowest priced ones but one more closer to the top.
