Favorite Beavers

I was using some SK Rodents last week with some success and was wondering what is everyone's favorite Beaver style baits to fish? Also how do you like to rig and fish them. Is it mostly an on the fall type presentation or do you like to work them along the bottom and thru cover like a plastic worm?

I pitch them a lot with a straight shank hook, Texas-rigged. Downside there is they tear up easy so I go through a lot of them. So I buy mine in 50 ct. bags from Christopherson Bait in Alexandria. (Find them on the Bay of E by searching Alexandria Bass and Muskie Tackle).

My other favorite is the Cheemo Lures Creature, which is made by a friend of mine in Walker. It kind of looks like a garden variety Beaver type bait until you look at the tail. It has this funky 3 dimensional spade tail that just makes it fall different. They're great on a jighead on weedlines, and for lord knows what reason, I catch a ton of walleyes on them besides. More than any other soft plastic I fish for bass, and I don't begin to have an explanation as to why. They're really a cool little creature bait. Plus the Minnesota Berry color rocks...

Those are all good baits, although my preference is the Dbomb because I'm going for bigger fish (big bait, big fish).  For what it's worth (literally):

Cheemo Lures Creature = $.42 each.  I'm going to pick up a few bags of these the next time I swing through Alexandria.

Sweet Beaver = $.48 each.

Baby Dbomb = $.57 each.

Kinky Beaver = $.67 each.  This one has the longer tentacles.

Dbomb = $.67 each.  This one is larger than the ones listed above.
