If it is a real ipod, I think you need itunes which is not supported on chromebook.

At least that is what I get from reading the answers on the web.

I don't have an Ipod but my wife and son each have one and you can just download songs directly on it using the wi-fi. As far as storing photos, I store them on Photobucket because the app uploads them all automatically from my phone.

I'm not trying to talk you out of buying the ASUS though because as I told you in the PM, I love mine.

I've had a HP Chromebook for a little more than a year, if you like what you have been able to do with your Windows PC, stick with Windows.

Chromebooks are ok but limited and I'm not impressed with how fragile the device itself is.

If its going to be your only devices go with the laptop. If it's going to be a traveling device or just to go sit on the deck, go to the cabin or coffee shop type of thing the Chromebook is great. It just won't do what a laptop will. For me, I would spend the extra and get the laptop.

Yes, but is it really that much different?

No drives, minimal storage, apps are primarily internet dependent.

I guess I don't see much difference between a Chromebook and a tablet to warrant the outrageous price they ask for them when you can get a 10" tablet and a keyboard that will do basically the same thing, from what I gather.

In that respect, no there isn't much difference between the 2. I paid about the same price for my Nexus 7 Gen 1 as I did for the HP Chromebook but I would consider my Nexus 7 tablet more useful BUT I still use my PC much more than either one of those devices.
