But I think there are probably some good ones out there without motors, if you look.

A short search turned up several non-motorized models.  It looks like the sky is the limit as far as price goes.  Found a couple non-motorized models that sell for over $5k.

There's no good treadmill swamp, the idea is straight garbage.  Only a money maker. Snake oil of the fitness industry, there's a LOT of snake oil. Just throw a ripped body or 2 on the package and away they sell. Pathetic

I wouldn't go as far as to say riding a bicycle, for example, is bad for your health, however.

There are some budget priced machines out there that really don't look too bad.

I ran across this one..

These come without a seat or a steering wheel, and work reasonably well for the guy who has lost his rear and doesn't know which way to turn.
