ZAGS
Can you bring dead salted shiners across the border? Just wondering if the CO asks for a bait receipt and all I have is a receipt for the shiners I bought in the U.S.I always carry the bait receipt for the live minnows I byOntario. ZAGS
Thanks Mike, I always declare them.... just wondering what a CO would say if I am fishing with dead shiners not bought in Canada....
magnum mike
We used to trap our minnows in the spring and preserve them with embalming fluid from a local funeral parlor. As long as you don't have "live bait" you are in compliance.
cam white
As long as your fishing on a lake that doesn't have a no bait restriction, your fine.
walleye 4 me
I freeze minnows in coke. using salties after handling big walleye and having knicked up fingers from hooks/gill plates/fins/teeth all weekend sucks.
fishn45
I agree. My fingers burned bad last year after my third day of fishing. Did you find that minnows frozen in coke worked as well as salties? I'd be interested in trying this. I always kinda thought the walleyes loved the salt!
