I have a friend coming in from Washington State and I live down in Marshall MN. We are going to head up to Red for a long fishing trip, but i need to pick him up at the airport. Has anyone tried to pull their fish house through the pick up terminal? i have a 8x17 IC RV edition that i need to pull through there to get him.

it will fit but I'd suggest planning a pick up on the left side of the pick up area instead of the right side where everyone goes. I'd also make sure he's there before you end up driving through so you don't have to loop around again. Park at the Super America and wait for his call.

You could even drop your fishhouse at the Superamerica on Post Rd and 5, pick him up, and then go back and hook up if needed. Just make sure to lock that baby up during the 20 minute round trip to get him.

was thinking of doing that too, but was not sure if the gas station would let me drop it there for 20 mins. guess it doesn't hurt to stop an ask. i gotta think that even with the A/C unit it would fit in the terminal area?

There is a cell phone lot west of the SA for waiting that is provided by the airport. I have pulled boats and fish houses through the pickup before without any issues.

I love the energy of trips like this. Enjoy, be safe, and good luck with catching.

It is a good energy trip. gonna treat the west coast guy to some good ice fishing and want to hit the road as quickly as we can so we are not setting up in the dark too much. Little bummed that Red is covered in snow now and travel off the main roads may be tough. Im sure the F250 4x4 will make it though and i have chains if needed. If not, there is always a helpful person out there to give a helping hand to get unstuck, right? :-)

Iv pulled boats through both terminal 1 and 2 at MSP. Easy stuff. stick to the lefthand side. have your friend cross the road and wait by the doors opposite of everyone else. goes way faster and theres no need to swoop in with the trailer between other guys. the biggest thing id worry about is the hill at terminal 1. unless its taller than the vans and shuttle buses wouldn't worry. Iv seen ranger 620's and enclosed contracting trailers go through no problem.

Plenty of room to take ur house through there. I did construction work there this summer and drove semi truck and loaded trailer through it. Dump trucks drive through there to. If u have to take the loop a couple times, no biggie, no different than driving around the block.

I have drove one of these through there with a generator trailer behind it. You will be just fine like others said tell him to call when he has all his bags and is ready at the doors. Make sure he tells you what number door he is at I think they are numbered at msp at least.

Thanks ZachD...knowing you got that thing through there makes me feel much better

Was just up in Red yesterday. I had no problem pulling my 8x16 anywhere on the lake. I have a 1/2 ton silverado. That big ford should have no problem getting around. Snow is hard in spots, best to be setting up in the light.
