Members Only Fluid Forum View   08/08/2017

Fluid forum view allows members only to get right to the meat of this community; the topics. You can toggle between your preferred forum view just below to the left on the main forum entrance. You will see three icons. Try them out and see what you prefer.   Fluid view allows you, if you are a signed up member, to see the newest topic posts in either all forums (select none or all) or in just your favorite forums (select the ones you want to see when you come to Fishing Minnesota). It keeps and in real time with respect to Topic posts and lets YOU SELECT YOUR FAVORITE FORUMS. It can make things fun and easy. This is especially true for less experienced visitors raised on social media. If you, as a members want more specific topics, you can even select a single forum to view. Let us take a look at fluid view in action. We will then break it down and explain how it works in more detail.   The video shows the topic list and the forum filter box. As you can see, it is easy to change the topic list by changing the selected forums. This view replaces the traditional list of categories and forums.   Of course, members only can change the view to better suit your way of browsing.   You will notice a “grid” option. We have moved the grid forum theme setting into the main forum settings. This makes it an option for members only to choose. This screenshot also shows the removal of the forum breadcrumb in fluid view mode. Fluid view remembers your last forum selection so you don’t lose your place when you go back to the listing. The benefit of this feature is easy to see. It removes a potential barrier of entry for members only. It puts the spotlight on topics themselves, and not the hierarchical forum structure. You as a member will enjoy viewing many forums at once and switching between them without leaving the page. We hope that fluid view, the new functionality is an asset that you enjoy .

Have made 3 games so far and have watched several others live-streamed. They showed some grit and determination the other night at the Barn to be sure. Really seemed to play off of the small but vocal crowd. Odds are we'll get to more games as there are several season ticket holders locally. Lots of good seats available and easy in and out for parking. Makes it more interesting as our neighbor girl is playing. smile

Fer sure. Nice to see Carlie Wagner getting as much playing time and experience as she has. If she can avoid the injury bug looks like she has a lot of potential. For selfish reasons though hope Banham comes back next year.

Great comeback win over IN despite being down the entire game until just a little over a minute left. This following an impressive win over Ohio St. on the road. 16 - 2 on the season. Carlie Wagner is coming into her own and it's sounding possible that Rachel Banham may return for another season. Next game against Purdue on Thursday night. Invested in BTN Plus so can live stream the games we might not otherwise be able to see. Go Gophers! smile

Tough OT loss to Purdue at the Barn after coming from 15 down. Could not follow the officiating in this game. A lot of questionable calls and no-calls. crazy

They got 'er done. Mo Walker needs to watch film of Zahui B. to learn how to be more aggressive. Gets the 2nd triple double of her career. No other Gopher women's player has ever done that. Mullaney appeared to have an off night, turning the ball over 6 times but also had 12 assists. Had me concerned when they were down by 10 but this team seems to have a never say die attitude.

They come home and win after losing 3 in a row on the road and 4 of their last 5. Aside from a few stray cats, most of Bugtussle was on hand to witness Carlie Wagner's 25 point performance. Prolly a good thing coach Stollings was able to hang onto her. More home cooking forthcoming at the Barn with WI on Wednesday night at 7.

This is the squad to watch. Unranked at 21-6? A sophomore with over 1K points and throws up a 39-29, a new conference rebound record? While missing their best player for the season? If Banham gets the medical hardship redshirt as expected, this team could really be special next year. Wagner will be a year older with that excellent freshman class.

And this from a guy who really knows his buckets ladies and gentlemen... grin I knew there was a reason I bought that HDMI cable...lol. Seriously, this has been a fun team to watch. They've snuck up on people and while they haven't won all their games, they've been competitive even in most of their losses. Zahui was the big story last night but the rest of the team quietly adds to the victory. They go 15-16 from the line, grab another 14 boards to complement Zahui's 39, Wagner contributes 17 pts., Kelly 13, Bailey 10, Hirt 8 off the bench and Mulaney dishes 9 assists. Heading to the game on Saturday with some friends. Been fun watching them evolve. And as you say Scott, am looking forward to next year with more quickness and ball handling in the backcourt promised. cool

What a great game to watch. Puts the boys to shame. Just a note tickets for Sat.game against Michigan are discounted to just $5 for seat backs. I paid $15 last week. It's a black out game so best to wear black. Great time to take the kids for some cheap fun.Run and gun is so fun to watch. Go Gophers DrJ

Sure got our money's worth on that one! Double OT win over Michigan. Zahui notches her 20th double double of the season with 27 points and 27 boards. 3 Gopher women (Zahui, Kelley, Wagner) with 20 or more points. Sweet. Barn was rockin'. cool

Few expected this team to play as well as they have after losing Zahui to the pro's after last season. They may or may not make the tournament but it made them more interesting after Banham's big Sunday performance.

Great come from behind 78 - 76 win in spite of some questionable calls and a lopsided number of trips to the charity stripe in favor of IA on MN's home court. Gopher women kept their cool with Banham canning the winner at the buzzer for the W.

Sad to see Chase Coley from Mpls Washburn playing for the Hawkeyes and not the Gophers... My Daughter played against her team in HS and she was a monster in HS, and a pretty solid college big right now. Oh yeah and Peschel from Sauk Center is at IA also... is there a reason local kids are not at the U? Cause they are playing for the competition against us just fine...

Banham hit a game winner a week after dropping 60 in a game, she is rolling.

Ya I wish they keep a lot of people and she would've been one of them. One problem the U has right now is their academic standards are stiffer than some of these other schools. It's hurt the athletic recruiting big time. This is supposed to be a Land Grant school but that seems to have been largely forgotten. Right now the Gophers are loaded with guard talent and they need to get some decent low post players. The 6' 5" transfer from IA St. looks like a beast. She's been on the sidelines during pregame warmups. Name escapes me but also a MN girl. She should be able to help them right away after fall semester is over. Looks like some of their recruits are also addressing that.

Bummer last night losing to IN at IN but certainly nothing to be ashamed of. Their low post play exposes the weakness the Gophers have when the 3 ball isn't falling. And IN hasn't lost at home this year to anyone. Gotta find a way to win at least one of these last 3 games. Anything more than that would be icing on the cake and asking a lot.

    • Well you did say sometimes it's hard to get your point across with this group.
    • Well a few days ago we got hit hard by a good cold front and the temperatures plummeted down into the 50s here in Islamorada, FL.  We also had another reinforcing front back that one up, so things stayed chilly.   The water in the backcountry bays dropped into the high 50s as well in some portions.  Though a day after each front passed the winds laid down and gave way to some epic fishing.  Today I had Pam and Lars down from Arkansas and we fished deep in the everglades.  We got out early and were loaded up with some nice lively shrimp.  When the water temps drop this far, usually everything is pretty keyed in on shrimp - they don't want to work too hard for that meal and expend a lot of energy.  Working them very slowly on the bottom, really just letting them lay and twitching every so often, works wonders.  Once we got set up and the tide started moving in, it was game on.  Pam and Lars each landed well into the double digits on snook, and quite a few 'big girls' for us... fish in the 8 to 12 lb range.  Multiple double headers it was a blast!  We also had quite a few black drum and nice redfish too.  Very good to see the reds as they've been hard to find especially in the summer time, as much of their habitat has been beat up due to algae blooms and grass die off.  But in the winter they do show up in the 'winter time holes' along with their cousins the black drum, snook, and sheepshead.  We also saw several small tarpon rolling about.  I didn't have much hope that they would bite but knew it was a possibility.  We kept throwing in their direction, and soon Pam hooked and landed a nice 25 lb tarpon!  Not to be outdone, Lars got one about an hour after that.  Backcountry SLAMS for both anglers, wow!  We continued catching fish for several hours it was just epic, also got a few trout mixed in which we kept for dinner.  I don't particularly like killing our drum, especially the redfish, due to the lack of numbers... and snook are currently out of season and also more of a gamefish for us too.  On the way home we hit the gulf side to look for some triple tail.  It was so calm and those fish like to lay on the surface near the crab buoys, sunning themselves and waiting for an easy meal.  We saw quite a few but mostly little guys, though we caught several and got one that was big enough for dinner too at least.  Just a banner day out of Islamorada in December fishing.  I have the same crew again tomorrow and then several days open next week, come on down the fishing is great! • I’ve never been to Ahlman’s but by the looks of their page, yah, probably a great resource too. Boone’s is similar in respects to offerings and massive showroom layout but I don’t think they have the gunsmithing depth of Ahlman’s.
    • I actually enjoyed this. LOL  I used to dive a lot, but not as good as these did.
    • Didn't you smoke one before watching?
    • Uhhhhh... I for one am at a complete loss for words.
    • Here is a project for you when fishing gets slow.
    • I've never been to Boone's but I would think that Ahlman's Gun Shop down by Waterville might be similar and another possible resource.
    • Was able to get out these last couple weeks a couple times to enjoy the waterfowl before most of them left for good. Surprisingly was able to find a couple sea ducks on back to back weekends. The harlequin was a first for me in MN and the Long Tail was the second of my life.  Young long tail days before this lake froze over. Hen Harlequin below the St. Cloud darn couple weeks ago. American blackduck - may have some slight mallard mixed in with it as I noticed some green on its head from certain angles. widgeon picture I liked the colors with. This was taken early November.
    • Hey, I just started mine and did about 5 circles around the yard just to smell some exhaust!
