Now that the archery deer season is closed, I wondered what to do with myself, well thankfully shrew season is still open in the metro.  With the fresh snow, I followed some trails and they all led to my bird feeder.  What a revelation!!!  Who would have thought I could just set a blind under my bird feeders and have this kind of luck? Looks like that new pellet gun I got for Christmas is going to get a workout this winter. :)

takes a lot of guts to show baiting and mice way out of the slot in that photo.

Baiting?  It's for the birds. Not my fault if they drop some on the ground.  Anyway, prove it. I didn't do it. Nobody saw me.

And BTW, there is no slot on shrews here in the metro.  No license, no limit.

My run of 21 black velvet shrews ended...and I can't get another to save my soul. Musta wiped out the entire village. I'm watching for their little snow trails, though...then out comes the recon gear and traps.

I've had about a month long dry spell in the garage with no more mice and through the season was over? :(

Then last night got a dlb of shrews. :)

I've checked my bucket in the utility room and its devoid of any mouse sign.  Luckily it's in there cause last night I went to check it and notice the humidifier was leaking on the ground.  It wasn't the hose being plugged and that's as far as I looked.  Merely turned it off until I feel like dealing with it.

I'm going to freshen the peanut butter.  Seems the knife eater dog was in there licking the can clean.
