Spearing help

Recommended Posts

I built a spearing house this summer and am getting ready to go. The problem is I have never been in a house or seen it done other than videos. Anyone want to give me some advice on how to do it. Do you throw the spear or drop it? Decoys or live bait?

Any help would be nice. and if someone would like to go and show me the ropes let me know

Thanks

I live about a mile north of Moorhead so I can't be far from you! I've been spearing for quite a few years, my dad wrote the book on spearing! (Darkhouse Spearfishing Across North America-Jay Leitch). I fish mainly around Lake Park, DL, Cormorant area, let me know a day or two in advance about which lake you're heading too and I might swing on my with my portable and give you a little crash course in the great sport of spearing!
