mwal
I saw one of these at the Alex decoy show. Has anyone ever used one? I always get a sore back leaning over the hole. Think of suggestions for my fathers day list.Mwal
MJ1657
If you're talking one of those chairs you lean into I believe Hawkeye has one.
mwal
Yes the one you lean forward on it felt good at the show but its always good to hear from someone that actually has used one.Mwal
MJ1657
I'm sure he will comment about it. If I remember correctly he really likes it. The guy that makes them has been around quite awhile and is a nice guy.
mrklean
Picture? I gotta get something different for next year the past 2 years I have gotten really bad back pains during spearing season then they go away after the season sitting on the bucket isn't cutting it anymore. hawkeye43
Yes I have that chair. I have had it for 3 years and have gotten a lot of dump about it, but it the cat's meow. It is great, no more back pain, if you happen to take a nap, you can't fall in the hole, good for me because I can't swim, it places you looking over the hole so you have a good view. The only thing I did different was change the chin cover to something softer and welded a couple of rod holders for pan fish rods. I think it ranks up there with the stand-up tong as a must have. mrklean
What does one cost hawkeye?
mwal
Makes the decision easier Hawkeye43. Will have to fashion some sort of pad or cover on chin pad. Sometimes I shorten my day spearing just because of my back. For some reason as long as I have ipod or radio I don't get bored spearing like I did ice fishing. I only spent few minutes on it at the decoy show due to people waiting to check it out. It's on my short list for next season.

His was just made out of a 2x6 with a hinge. the my dream chair has a few more useful features and is far more cush though. VS

Wanderer
There's a show in Little Falls early March. That's where I bought mine. I like it a lot. You can call or go to his website. Merk's post has his ad and should be current. MJ1657
