toughguy
I hate it. A typical baseball game has a handful of moments where you can get excited. Many of these moments are right after an umpire's call. Now the call is basically meaningless - you have to sit and wait for the video review. They are flat lining a sport that was already too slow IMO. I was more happy when we had instant calls with some errors than I am with video review and less errors (it's still not perfect). Baseball needs to speed up the game, not slow it down. I like replay in football - it just fits the game better. IMO they need to save replay only for home runs. Nuke the rest of it. JBMasterAngler
Agree! College football's review system is terrible also.
Scott K
Is there any reason they cant have a sensor in the ball, and one in home plate, that will automatically tell you if it was a strike? I am pretty sure they could design that, and it could be relayed instantly to the ump, and he can make the call as it would be live.
greebs
Bb too slow the way it is already. This just slows it even more.

I am leaning on the assumption that this is sarcasm from a frustrated fan, and I concur. The human element is what makes baseball the sport it is. If everything is reviewable and we are reducing that human element anyhow, why not just make it official and remove all humans? Have a laser strike/ball indicator that automatically adjusts the batter's box for each at bat... Laser sensors on all foul lines and lines above and to the sides of the field of play to determine foul balls, home runs, and fan interference... Laser inlays in the grass/turf to determine if a ball is caught or skips into a glove... It's gotten pretty ridiculous and it will not help rejuvenate a diminishing fan base.
