Bernie Keefe
This Lake Granby area report is brought to you by Fishing with Bernie. The rivers are opening up and fishing with small nymphs, eggs and worms is fantastic, visibility will be the key. The pump canal, inter connecting channel and Shadow Mtn spillway are all fishing very well for Rainbows and Browns. Jigs, spawn sacs and small crank baits like a #5 Flicker shad are working excellent. Wolford, Williams Fork and Willow Creek all have a great Rainbow bite along the shoreline, small spoons, and jigs tipped with wax worms are working well. Kokanee have turned inconsistent in the river channels on Wolford and Willow Creek. Look for this bite to get very good right before the ice comes off. The lake trout in Granby and Williams Fork are biting well on small jigs(tubes, fuzzy grubs and Berkeley Gulp "Mantis Shrimp" ) tipped with sucker meat.
