FYI it's spelled Wapogasset if you need to punch it into a GPS.

Pike isn't a bad lake, but I've never tried for pannies there so I can't say. Wapo is much more popular, and shanty-town will show you where the fish are biting. Lot's of medium sized bass in Wapo, and quite a few pike as well. Couldn't rule out a walleye either. So tip-ups would definitely be a good idea if you can find room. Lot's of good areas away from shanty-town too, so don't be too afraid to explore.

Thanks Stratocaster! Might have to give that a try. I haven;t fished Wappogasette before. Would it be worth it to bring a few suckers to throw under a tip up?

Sure. What Nick said.

I think Wap might be a fun one for your son. Lots a action. I was there last Friday afternoon. Caught and released a number of bluegills. Half would be keepers.

Pike is nice but I don't know what the shanty area is producing. My area was very good for crappies but slowed way down a week ago.

Good luck!

Dave
