deerhunter
I'm just curious what people are feeding there dogs to help with shedding. I have a yellow lab in the house along with a basset hound and morkie. If it was up to me there would be one dog but my wife kids think different anyways the lab and hound shed I was feeding my lab nutri source but the other dogs eat his food too (I feed them cheaper food) I don't want to spend a lot on food for the other two dogs but I also just want to buy one kind of food any suggestions on a good medium priced food
walleye18
Purina Pro Plan....food makes a big difference in some dogs with respect to how much they shed. Also plays a big part in how much they [PoorWordUsage]. All dogs are different IMO. Dog food and its' influence has been discussed alot on this forum. DaSwede
I really don't think it matters what you are feeding them (maybe to a certain extent). I feed my lab expensive food, and he still sheds a lot. He just started shedding again this week. Not sure what that is all about...it's still darn cold out there!!!! LABS4ME
Dog's shed... dog's with a great - thick coat shed even more as they have more hair to shed. All part of the glory of owning a dog! some regular brushing will help mitigate some of the hair in the house... changing food won't decrease shedding.Good Luck!Ken
bottomdweller
Totally agree with Labs. My lab has a thick coat and for the last few weeks shedding like crazy. Usually a few times a year like this. When they are shedding alot I brush them, it helps some but they still leave a trail of hair!
herm
Man, I must be lucky. My lab sheds only twice a year. Once from January to June and then again July to December. Plus side: she's the only critter in the house losing hair faster than me!!
Scott K
I have 2 labs in the house, I swear I can bag it up, within a weeks time, and make a dog from the hair.
