Swiftswamper
Looking to try waubay for the first time in a week or two. Anyone have any ice reports or fishing reports?
SpitnArgueDuckClub*
We fished Bitter (right next to the town of Waubay) Sunday and caught 40 or so walleyes 12 - 14 inches. Not one keeper. We did manage to ice a dozen perch over 12 inches during at the same time though. 30 ft of water fatheads on dead sticks caught the most. mnhunter2
We fished Waubay over last weekend lots of little eyes with very few keepers and some perch mixed in, if you are on the north end of the lake be careful of your driving speed as the speed limit on the grenville grade is 35mph!!! bigern
Landings are rough. I didnt even try to get out on bitter they looked pretty deep. we also have more snow and wind coming tommorow and this weekend. Could be pretty tough. Better bring a sled! carpshooterdeluxe
How is the snow on the ice? is travel by pickup doable? The snow was powder/pillow drifting saturday night when we drove off Waubay. Decided not to fish sunday morning and left for home around 6:30 am so not sure what yesterday's wind did with the snow that fell. With as many bare spots as there was before the snow, and the new stuff not really sticking, I'm guessing there will be more drifts but still should be able to get through them pretty good.
