eyeguy 54
There's a Great Grey about 30 feet from my back window. Cool!! Watching with binos and it's just looking from side to side. Maybe looking for a snack.
Rick G
I know it's dark out, but where is the pic?
eyeguy 54
lol ! nice and bright with the snow. saw the silhouette and grabbed the binos. I was actually thinking of a long shutter shot with the zoom but didn't want to scare it away. it stayed almost an hour.
eyeguy 54
I'm thinking it was a long eared owl.
Shack
We have been visited this spring/late winter by a nesting pair of owls. Just noticed them the other day and I have been the unlucky one to get a clear view of them to decipher which species they are. Not the biggest nest we have had in our back woods (peregrine falcon nest which was destroyed in a storm around 2005) but it is cropped up quick: I think mother is in the nest but is hunkered down. The nest is about 60'-70' feet up. Hopefully get an ID of which species it is in the next couple days. The male is very active just before sundown and early morning.
