Esox_Magnum
Though it as a gimick untill I saw them at time outfish same colored baits, are they a catch all, no but they have their time and place...
davidbigreelz
Same with the gimmick thoughts but the science is there about light penetration so I got a few. And even painted some lures I have multiples of with the uv spray. So far from last summer, I would say its a toss up. I probably caught more on the UV lures but I probably way out used those ones too trying it out.except when I put the spray on spinner blades they seem to have a way brighter shine in the water. mainbutter
They are as much a gimmick as glow jigs for ice fishing IMO.
Esox_Magnum
No gimmick to Glow, they flat out work... On out MN crappie trips this winter glow outfished non glow 10-
Eric_Kruger
Uv for me has outfished every time. So much so that every jig I paint now will have it as a top coat. Im sure there will be exceptions but I feel more often than not it produces better.
Vitreus
In stained water, anything that gets the attention of the fish is more likely to get those reaction strikes, so I can imagine the UV will naturally excel in these situations. In clear water, where they can really get a good look at your bait, I always fish the most natural looking lures. And +1 for glow lures and crappies. No doubt that you get more bites if you keep that jig bright.

Stick in Mud
I don't have much of a sample size, but the UV lures I trolled with last fall were the worst-performing colors of all. That being said, I'll definitely be giving them another try this year.
LoonASea
I had quite a bit of luck fishing UV spoons on Superior last season ,,, Typically less then 70 FOW and lake superior is one of the clearest lakes ,,,this year there will always be a UV spoon in the spread
