LOL slush in hole? Really if that is the only gripe it's a poor one.

I look at all the positives it has over everything else.

1. It is a flexible auger. You can match it to a power head, clam plate, drill, or offset hand auger pretty easy. It's light compared to most If not all the other options.

2. Is about the perfect material built auger.  The auger is built heavier then the standard "hand" auger, but not has heavy has most of the power auger bits. Leaving the auger strong, but light weight.

3. The blades and cutting head are one. While some dislike this, it is a good thing IMO. It allows for the cutting head to be adjusted and correct when the blades are sharpened. Giving you a perfect cutting head each time. If something happens to the blade mount on other augers your pretty screwed. How many people talk of an auger not cutting due to the blade pitch being incorrect due to the blade mount getting bent. Then trying to fix it. with the nils if it happens you just switch out your cutting head and send the other one to frank de Luca to sharpen and correct the cutting head.

4. In deep ice the auger extention for the nils adds flighting. No need to clear ice shavings. the flighting does it for you. Works great with the slush bucket and drilling holes in the ice castle. Put the Milwaukee on the clam plate in reverse and slush is cleaned out of the hole.
